I dare you booktag

I was tagged by Nica from nicsthebibliophile.wordpress.com to do the I DARE YOU booktag! You can find Nica’s here
Now, I am very excited… Let’s do this!

Ο You must be honest
Ο You can’t not answer a question
Ο You have to tag at least four people

I can work with these rules! No problem! (I hope…)

Which book has been on your shelf the longest?
— Well… I am casually looking at my shelf now and the book that has been there the longest is my favorite book from when I was six or seven called De Ijsprinses. It’s a Dutch book by Thea Stilton (remember those Geronimo Stilton books?). So that one, or the Dutch Harry Potter books, but those were my mom’s first…

What is your current read, your last read, and the book you’ll read next?
— My current read is Updrift by Errin Stevens. I was sent a review copy of this book, so be on the lookout for a review soon 😉 My last read is The Queen B* and the Homecoming King by Crista McHugh, and the book I’ll read next is probably Unhinged by Chani Lynn Freener. I’ve wanted to reread that one for awhile now, but I might choose another book to read next because I am really bad at following my scheduled TBR…

What book did everyone like, but you hated?
— I think Shatter Me could be my answer to this question… It’s not like I particularly hated it, but I found it quite boring and just didn’t like it that much. Because so many people loved it, I did download the second book on my phone but I didn’t read further than the first four to five chapters.

What book do you keep telling yourself you’ll read, but probably won’t?
— Divergent.
I lent it from a friend a year ago, but I had a lot of books to read then so I didn’t read it. I keep telling myself I’ll read it sometime but no… I probably won’t.

Which book are you saving for retirement?
— Oh… I actually don’t know…
Considering how many books there are, a lot.

Last Page: Read it first or wait till the end?
— It depends. Most of the time I wait till the end because I don’t want to spoil myself, but if I don’t like a book or feel like the plot is going nowhere I’ll read the end and then decide if I want to go back and continue reading.

Acknowledgments: Waste of paper and ink or interesting aside?
— Most of the time I find them interesting, but sometimes I just skip them.

Which book character would you switch places with?
— Hmmm, this is a hard one because there are so many… Feyre or Aelin from SJM’s books (but only when everything is well and happy). America from the Selection series. Meghan Chase from the Iron Fey. Clary from The Mortal Instruments. Spencer from the Underworld saga. And many more, but these are the ones that popped in first!

Do you have a book that reminds you of something specific in your life (a person, a place, a time?
— I can’t really think of something specific at the moment, but some books do remind me of the place where I read them. The Selection reminds me of my aunt’s house for example.

Which book has been with you the most places?
— I don’t always bring books with me anymore, when I go out I use my phone, but I think The Iron King by Julie Kagawa has been with me the most.

Any “required reading” you hated in highschool that wasn’t so bad two years later?
— Okay first of all, I’m still in school. Second, in my school we don’t really have “required reading” until now and those books are books I would pick up myself so no.

Used or brand new?
— Brand new. I do have a few used books, but I only get them if I know that they’re in a super good condition or if the price is too good to pass up.

Have you ever read a Dan Brown book?
— No, I’ve never read one of his.

Have you ever seen a movie you liked more than the book?
— No, I don’t think so… Sometimes I’ve seen the movie and haven’t read the book (or the other way around) but from the movies I have seen AND read the book, I liked the book better or just as much as the movie.

Have you ever read a book that’s made you hungry, excluding cookbooks?
— Yes there are a lot! Alice in Wonderland made me hungry for cake and biscuits and tea for example. The Selection made me hungry for strawberry tarts. Harry Potter for Butterbeer and pumpkin pie and all that jazz.

Who’s the person whose book advice you’ll always take?
— I’ll always take book advice from my Bookstagram friends, but also my mom 😉

I had a lot of fun doing this tag, and I hope you enjoyed it (if you’re still here)! Just like I have been tagged, I will tag some people on Instagram (but if you feel like doing this tag feel free. I hereby tag you!) ❤
